Bhubaneswar: Another 118 new COVID-19 cases have been detected in Bhubaneswar in the last 24 hours, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today. Of fresh cases, 71 positive cases have been reported from quarantine centres and 47 are local contacts. As per details shared by the civic authority on Twitter, 10 employees including 2 women of the State Health & Family Welfare Department linked with an earlier positive case have tested positive for COVID-19. Similarly, 7 cases from Reserve Police Colony near Kalinga Stadium linked with previous positive case have been detected in the city. Besides, six more persons from Nua Sahi in Nayapalli area linked with an earlier positive case have been diagnosed with COVID-19. With new COVID-19 positive cases, the tally increased to 3472 in Bhubaneswar with active cases of 1301. Meanwhile, 90 more persons infected with COVID-19 have recovered from the disease on August 5. With this, the recovered cases number rose to 2151 in Bhubaneswar. The virus has claimed 18 lives so far in the city.
