Belagavi: Members of the Farmers Association staged a protest against the Union Government’s controversial Farm Laws on Sunday. The association member’s protest comes ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the historic city today.
The farmers, who had gathered at the Queen Channamma square in the city, raised slogans against Shah and criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his reluctance to withdraw these laws, which according to the farmers, would harm India’s farm sector.
Some of the agitating farmers plan to
meet the Deputy Commissioner and submit their memorandum urging the Union government to
rescind the controversial Farm Laws.
