Hyderabad: A fire broke out in the first unit of the Srisailam left bank hydel power generation unit in Domalapenta of Nagarkurnool district in Telangana late on Thursday night. There were 30 workers inside the unit when the fire took place and while 15 workers escaped safely by rushing out of the tunnel, while rescue teams saved six workers.The remaining 9 workers were trapped inside the unit. State’s Energy Minister G.Jagadish Reddy and TRANSCO Chairman and Managing Director Prabhakar Rao rushed to the spot and are supervising the rescue operations.
