New Delhi, Former Jammu-Kashmir Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu was sworn in as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Saturday. President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of office at a ceremony held in the Ashoka Hall, Rashtrapati Bhavan. Mr Murmu will have a tenure up to November 20, 2024, an official release here said. He succeeds Rajiv Mehrishi, 1978-batch IAS officer, who retired on Friday after a career spanning more than 30 years.
