India’s COVID recoveries cross 10 lakh mark

New Delhi, Recovered cases of COVID-19 in the country have crossed the 10 lakh mark in the country on Thursday, after 32553 cured and discharged were added to the list, the government data said. According to the Union Health Ministry, the total number of cured cases across the country stood at 10,20,582 pushing the recovery rate to 64.44 per cent. However, India’s active cases have now reached 528242 after 18795 fresh such cases were added in the past 24 hours, and the overall tally of the contagion across the nation has so far increased to 1583792, the government data further said. Pandemic deaths pan India reached 34968, after 775 lives were claimed by the lethal virus in the past 24 hours. Fatality rate with respect to COVID-19 in the nation was at present 2.21 per cent, the data added. On the brighter side , the recoveries in India have exceeded the active cases by almost five lakh, with the figure currently at 492340. Meanwhile, a total of 1,81,90,382 samples have been tested for COVID as per the Indian Council of Medical Research till Wednesday.
