LIFE IS VALUABLE

The Planet Earth with life is undoubtedly valuable. That never means , those who are blessed with life would never die. The eternal truth is everybody will die one day; if not tomorrow, then day after tomorrow. Not only human beings or animals, but also trees are having lives. Starting from human beings, trees, animals & birds each one is dependant upon others. A small example is that the air inhale by all leaving beings is nothing but Oxygen which amply produced from trees of all types in day time only & at night it is just the opposite. Where there is carbon dioxide component it is, injurious to life. For that only, recently the National Green Tribunal(NGT) referring the Supreme Court order told Central Pollution Control Board to stop using industrially petroleum coke & furnace oil. As because those two component hugely used in our Country amounts to 23.25milion. Supreme Court imposed a blanket ban in four states which includes Rajasthan, UP & Haryana & since 1996 it has been banned in Delhi too. At the same time the import of the same jumped within 5years from 3.3milion tones to 14.4milon. After the order of the apex court PMO office directed all ministries on the 21st November last year to curb pollution & to ban the import of pet coke side by side. Astonishingly, the petroleum ministry of India said that its domestic usages could not be stopped because its storage or disposal would create “a bigger environmental problem”. An inter-ministerial committee headed by petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan decided last month, that, “as far as domestically produced pet coke is concerned, its utilization should be restricted to industries where sulphur  is absorbed in the manufacturing  process(for example cement industry & gasification plants) & not released in the atmosphere”. Before a week say, Dharmendra said that various stakeholder ministries were working out a policy to put curbs for reducing the imports as well as its end-use. Looking towards the situation the state run refineries were making plans to use domestic pet coke-for-gasification, a project that Reliance Industries Ltd is converting its captive pet coke into synthetic gas. Generally in cement, paper, brick kiln, chemicals & textile industries pet coke is widely used. Now the time has come to revaluate the plus & minus of using pet coke & furnace oil, in order to keep pollution at a distance.
