Magnitude 4.6 earthquake hits Ladakh

Leh: An earthquake measuring 4.6 on Richter scale hit parts of the Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh on Monday morning, forcing people to rush out of their homes in panic.
An official said that the tremor measuring 4.6 was mostly felt in the border district of Leh in Ladakh at 0610 hrs on Monday morning. “The epicenter of the earthquake was 86 km ENE of Leh (34.49 Latitude and 78.43 Longitude),” he said, adding the depth was 18 km.
He said that was no report of any causality or loss to the property.
