Man held for abducting teenage boy in Nanded

Nanded, A man was held for abducting a 16-year-old boy here, police said on Saturday.The incident occurred around 1630 hrs on Friday, when the victim, Shubham Satosh Giri (16) a resident of Loha city was abducted from Loha town, and the abductor sought a ransom of Rs 20 lakh from the victim’s mother on phone.The police swung into action, and confirmed that the abductor was Vikas Hatkar, a notorious criminal from Vishnupuri (Nanded tehsil), and was hiding in a house in Mahadevnagar area on Nila Road in Nanded.  Realising that, the police was on his hunt, the alleged accused took Shubham Giri and fled through Puyani village, in a long chase, police tried to stop him, but he was not, so police shot at him, and fell sustaining an injury at his leg.Police arrested him, seizing deadly weapon from his possession, and took the abducted boy into custody. The accused was charged with extortion, robbery, theft and attempted murder, police said. 

A case was cracked by a team of Assistant Inspector of Police Pandurang Bharti under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Magar, Additional Superintendent of Police Dattaram Rathore and Inspector of Local Crime Branch Dwarkadas Chikhlikar.
