Nadda says ‘even SC is surprised at MoU signed by Congress with Chinese Govt’

New Delhi, BJP president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Friday said that even the Supreme Court is surprised at the MoU signed by the Congress party with the Chinese Government and maintained that party leaders Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi must give an explanation.”Even the SC is surprised at the MoU signed by the Congress party with the Chinese Gov…

Mrs Gandhi & her son, who led the signing, must explain,” Mr Nadda said in his tweet. He asked,”Does this explain donations to RGF and opening Indian market for the Chinese in return, which affected Indian businesses?”  Mr Nadda also tagged a news report which said that the Chief Justice of India, in context of the China-Congress deal, asked ‘how can a political party sign an agreement with another country?’

While hearing a plea seeking National Investigation Agency probe into the Memorandum of Understanding signed on August 7, 2008 between Congress and China, the Supreme Court wondered how can a political party sign an agreement with another country.Mr Nadda has accused Rahul Gandhi of trying to “divide the nation” and “demoralise” the armed forces during crucial situations and alleged that it was the “effect” of the MoU the Congress had signed with the Communist Party of China.”First, Congress signs MoU with the Chinese Communist Party. Then, Congress surrenders land to China. During Doklam issue, Rahul Gandhi secretly goes to the Chinese embassy. During crucial situations, Rahul Gandhi tries to divide the nation and demoralise armed forces. Effects of MoU?” Mr Nadda has said in a tweet in June. The BJP has cited this to attack the Congress as the opposition party has become increasingly aggressive against the Narendra Modi government over its handling of the border standoff with China. In 2008, Mr Gandhi, then a Congress general secretary, and Xi Jinping, then a senior functionary of his party and now China’s President, had signed the MoU to facilitate high-level exchange between them and consult each other over important regional and international issues. The ruling BJP has also targeted the Congress by questioning a purported donation that Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF) had received, with Mr Nadda saying that the foundation took money from People’s Republic of China and the Chinese embassy in 2005-06 to carry out studies that were not in national interest.
