Jharsuguda: The Jharsuguda Town police today arrested Deputy Collector, Boudh Sarat Bag for allegedly torturing his wife.The official’s wife had lodged a police complaint accusing him of having an extramarital affair with a girl and torturing her physically. As per the complaint, the woman spotted her husband, a girl and some of his associates inside a car near bus stand here few days ago. She followed the vehicle and later caught Bag red-handed with the girl inside a house where his brother and friends were also present. As she opposed it, the official and his associates thrashed her with iron rod and brandished a gun threatening to kill her, she alleged. The woman left the spot and apprised the Jharsuguda SP about the incident. She later lodged a complaint in this regard at the BTM police outpost. On the other hand, Bag said it was a conspiracy and the truth will come to fore after investigation.
