Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 3319 new covid positive cases from 30 districts in the past 24 hours pushing the covid tally in the state to 9,03,789.
During the period 43 covid patients from 13 districts in the state succumbed to the virus taking the total fatalities in the state to 3930.
The recovery today soared to 8,67,402 as 3578 people were cured from the virus on Sunday.The active cases further declined to 32,404.
Health and Family Welfare department sources said out of 3319 new cases,1896 were reported from the quarantine centres and 1423 are local contact cases.
At least sixteen of the total 30 districts in the state reported less than 50 positive cases in the past 24 hours.
Cuttack district registered the highest number of 566 cases followed by Khordha(440) and Balasore ( 397 ).
Similarly, of the total 43 covid deaths reported in the past 24 hours, Khordha district alone accounted for nine deaths followed by five each in Bargarh,Nayagarh and Puri district and four in Sundargarh district.
Three each succumbed to the virus in Cuttack, Ganjam and Bhadrak district while two died in Dhenkanal and one each died in four other districts.
Official sources said as many as 21 districts in the state have active cases less than 1000 and five districts have less than 2500 cases .Only four districts have active cases more than 2500 with khordha registering the highest number of 5283.
The Test Positivity Rate(TPR) in Khordha district has registered 11.8 percent, highest in the state followed by Nayagarh (10.5 per cent).
Altogether 19 of the 30 districts in the state have TPR less than 5 per cent while seven districts have between 5 to 7.5 percent and four districts more than 7.5 per cent.
