Odisha register 200 New COVID Cases For 3rd Straight Day

Bhubaneswar: Amidst fear for second wave of COVID-19 in Odisha, the single-day cases of above 200 continued to rise for three consecutive days in the State.

The State registered 210 fresh Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 3,39,904 so far, source in the Health & Family Welfare Department informed today.

Of fresh single-day spike of 210 cases reported from 21 districts today, 124 have been reported from different quarantine centres and 86 are local contacts. Khordha district registered the highest of 51 fresh COVID cases followed by Nuapada district (23) and Cuttack district (19).

Meanwhile, one person infected with the COVID-19 succumbed to the virus yesterday, the Department source informed. With death of the patient, the total number of fatalities due to the virus reached 1920 in the State.

Yesterday, 29,128 samples were tested in Odisha to detect presence of Coronavirus.
