Petrol, diesel prices rise for second straight day

New Delhi: Fuel prices rose for the second consecutive day on Monday with petrol and diesel costing 28 paise more in the four metro cities.

Since May 4, the prices of both petrol and diesel have seen an increase during which, the prices of petrol and diesel in the National Capital rose by Rs 4.91 and Rs 5.49 respectively. In the remaining 15 days, the prices remained unchanged.

According to state-run Indian Oil Corporation website, in Delhi, petrol price was raised by 28 paise to cost 95.31 Rs per litre, while diesel price was increased by 27 paise to Rs 86.22 per litre.

In Mumbai, prices of petrol and diesel increased by 27 and 28 paise respectively and reached Rs 101.52 and Rs 93.58 respectively.

Petrol rate in Kolkata was hiked by 26 paise to be sold at 95.28 Rs per litre while diesel prices were hiked by 27 paise to 89.07 Rs.

In Chennai, cost of petrol was hiked by 24 paise to Rs 96.71 per litre, while that of diesel was increased by 26 paise to 90.92 Rs per litre.

Petrol-diesel prices are reviewed daily and changes are implemented, if any, with effect from 0600 hrs every day.
