Amravati/Nagpur: A police constable was seen brandishing a gun in a video which went viral on social media following which he was suspended by Maharashtra’s Amravati police, a senior police official said here on Wednesday.
The constable identified as Mahesh Muralishar Kale, attached to Chandur Bazar police station, Amravati district, said the official.
In the viral video, Kale was purportedly seen holding a gun and saying that those who follow law and order in Amravati will be benefitted.
The video was shot in a filmy manner in which Kale was seen brandishing a weapon, the official said.
The video came to the notice of senior police officials in the district, following which Kale was suspended on Tuesday, the official said.
The act of constable Kale has maligned police’s image in the eyes of the public, the official added.
