Top level meeting held last night, farmers continue with their agitation


New Delhi, Concerned over the farmer agitation in the national capital, Home Minister Amith Shah, BJP president JP Nadda and Agriculture Minister Narednra Singh Tomar held a late night meeting to, while on the other hand the farmer organisations have refused to agree to governments conditions regarding the talks.Nadda, Shah and Tomar held a meeting regarding the farmers situaiton, however, there is no official information regarding the same.Earlier, the Home Minister had appealed and gave the proposal to the agitating farmers asking them to move to the designated protest site and hold their demonstration peacefully and had said that as soon as they move to the site and be organised, the government will come to them and hold talks.Meanwhile, farmer leader Yogendra Yadav has said that the farmers and now not ready to accept government’s conditions regarding the talks. On Sunday there was a meeting of the farmer organisations wherein more than 20 farmer organisations from Punjab participated and they stressed on holding talks at the protest site.Agriculture Minister has said that the government wants to talk to the farmers with an open mind and also said that the agriculture reform laws do not have anything to do with the MSP, and the government had invited farmers for talks on December 3.Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his programme Mann Ki Baat had said that the new laws have empowered the farmers with new rights and opportunities. The Parliament has passed these laws after a lot of thought and discussion. With these reforms farmers are now free from many boundations.The farmer organisation have already had two rounds of talks with the government that did not lead to any conclusion.The farmers demands are to roll back the three agriculture reform laws , grant legal status to MSP and take back all cases registered
against the agitating farmers and some other demands.The farmers are sitting at the Delhi Haryana Border due to which several important routes are temporarily shut for the past four days and many vehicles are stuck on the way.Some farmers want to reach Jantar Mantar or the Ramlila Maidan for staging their demonstration, who are presently sitting at the border.The farmers have come prepared with their ration and supplies and are ready to carry on their agitation for a long period, and meanwhile Khap Panchayats in Haryana have also decide to join the farmers in Delhi and support their cause.This decision was taken in a meeting of the Khap panchayats held on Sunday.
