UP MLA shifted to Chitrakoot jail


Chitrakoot, Nishad party MLA Vijay Mishra, who was nabbed from Madhya Pradesh last week, was shifted to Chitrakoot district jail from the Naini central prison in Prayagraj late on Monday night.The legislator with a criminal background was shifted from Bhadoi to Naini jail on Sunday night but was again moved to Chitrakoot within a day.Ms Seema Mishra, daughter of the legislator, alleged that the UP police was trying to kill her father by shifting him from jail to jail as he is very ill.” This UP government is against the upper caste and hence my father is being targeted,” she alleged and called out to others of the community to unite against the government.On Sunday last, Vijay Mishra a legislator from Gyanpur in Bhadoi district, was brought from MP and produced before the Bhadoi court, which sent him to jail to 14 days judicial custody. But the Bhadoi jail officials refused to accommodate him apprehending law and order problem in the jail after his arrival. Later, he was shifted to Naini jail.But again on Monday, the Naini jail authorities wrote to the Prayagraj district authorities that the MLA, who has a criminal background, could use his influence inside the jail, and create security problems. The authorities immediately asked him to be shifted to Chitrakoot jail.On August 4, a close relative of the legislator lodged a police complaint against him and his family members of trying to grab his property. After the police case, the MLA went missing and was nabbed in MP. Vijay Mishra’s wife is also missing but her whereabouts were yet to be known.Meanwhile, the Bhadoi court will hear the bail plea of the legislator on August 28.
