In our state Odisha till today above 4lakh people have taken two dose corona vaccine which is less than 1% of the state’s 4.5crore people. Vaccination began from January 16th. To make it more effective, GOVT is with a target to vaccinate 2lakh people minimum daily & for the first time the target achieved on 1st April. Gradually vaccination target will be increased from2.5lakh to 3lakh as the additional chief secretary (health) Pradipta Kumar Mahapatra told. According to him the numbers could not be increased over night. It will go up depending upon the availability of the vaccine. Even before 16th January a road map has been prepared with district wise target but Mr Mahapatra pointed uot that the target set for Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Anugul, Bargarh, Bolangir & Sundargarh is yet to achieve for which the health department asked those district collectors to increase vaccination & particularly for above six districts & to review the performance too. Also the CM Naveen Pattnaik will review the district wise performances after a few days. But the aim of the GOVT is to vaccinate minimum 1.16 crore people which may take more than 5yrs if this ratio will continue. So, all collectors of 30 districts should be vigilant enough to vaccinate more & more people which undoubtedly is helpful for aged more than 45yrs old.
