OCI CARD WITH RESTRICTIONS

As per the new notification issued by the Home Department of India GOVT on 4th March 2021; henceforth OCI card holders before entering will have to take a special permit for their various activities. This includes they will have to enter into several states or union territory with special permit for various activities like missionary, tabligh, mountaineering or journalistic activities & even to visit any foreign diplomatic mission & foreign GOVT organization in India. Especially, the whole of Arunachal, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland & Sikkim & parts of Himachal, Jammu& Kashmir, Rajasthan & Uttarakhand which also includes the entire union territory Andaman & Nicobar islands marked as “Restricted Areas”. To visit those above places OCI card holders required to obtain a special permit from the Foreigners Regional Registration officer or the Indian Mission concerned as notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs. But they can stay in India for any period provided that those card holders shall intimate the same by e-mail whenever there is change in permanent address or occupation. They also can adopt any Indian children or can appear NEET, JEE-main & JEE advanced & can purchase or sale immovable properties other than agricultural land, farmhouse or plantation property. In India they can have the profession which includes doctors, dentists, nurses, advocates, CA, pharmacist or architects even from them also entry fee can be charge at national parks, museums, national monuments, historical sites, wildlife sanctuaries. To this new notification, some political leaders & a political party of Goa criticized too. Now it is to be seen, how OCI card holders will accept the same in other countries.
