Three tiger cubs born in Nandankanan Zoo; tiger population rises to 30

Bhubaneswar: Much to the delight of wildlife lovers and Nandankanan Zoo officials, three tiger cubs were born taking the total tiger population in the Zoo to 30.
Zoo sources said three tiger cubs were born from White tigress Megha and Nandan, both Royal Bengal Tiger (RBT) of Nandankanan origin.
Both the newborns and the mother are being observed by the zoo authorities through specially installed CCTV camera inside the tiger enclosure and the condition of all the three new born cub was stable
Earlier, on March 28, tigress ‘Vijaya’ had delivered three cubs in the Nandankanan Zoo.
Last year in January 2020, tigress ‘Sneha’ had delivered two cubs in the zoo.
The number of tigers in the Nandankanan Zoological Park went to 30 which included seven white tigers, four Melanistic, 13 Royal Bengal Tigers and six cubs.
