New Delhi: A total of 114 COVID-19 ICU beds are now left for critical patients, according to the data showed by the official Delhi COVID website.
At 1100 hrs on Monday, the website (http:corona.delhi.gov.in) data showed that a total of 3,151 COVID-19 beds were available while only 114 COVID-19 ICU beds vacant.
Of the total 18,277 COVID beds, 15,126 are currently occupied whereas of 4,222 ICU beds, 4108 are full.
On Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal averred that the COVID situation has worsened in the National Capital and there is a dire need for oxygen cylinders and beds, as the cases have risen exponentially in the past few days.
He has also written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to reserve 7,000 of 10,000 beds available in central governments hospitals for the COVID-infected patients.
The National Capital yet again reported a single-day highest spike of 25,462 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 161 deaths.
The new additions took the City’s caseload to 8,53,460 and the death toll to 12,121. The positivity rate in Delhi has risen to 29.74 per cent from Saturday’s 24.56 per cent. The unprecedented hike in active cases has led to a shortage of Covid beds in the Capital.
