Modi, Rahul condole Ajit Singh’s demise

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday condoled the demise of former union minister and Rashtriya Lok Dal(RLD) leader Chaudhary Ajit Singh who succumbed to Covid-19 in a Gurugram hospital this morning.Mr Modi recalled Singh as a leader completely devoted to the welfare of the farmers.”The death of former Union Minister Chaudhary Ajit Singh ji is very sad. He was always devoted to the interests of the farmers. He efficiently discharged the responsibilities of several departments at the centre. My condolences to his family and fans in this hour of mourning. om Shanti!”, the Prime Minister tweeted in Hindi.Mourning the demise, Mr Gandhi tweeted, ”The news of the untimely demise of Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh ji is sad. My condolences to his family and loved ones”.Singh, who passed away this morning, was undergoing treatment at a Gurugram hospital after being diagnosed with Covid-19 on April 20.His condition deteriorated on April 22 as his lungs developed an infection.He is survived by his son Jayant and two daughters.
