New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed grief over the passing away of Congress Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Satav.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, “Anguished by the passing away of my friend from Parliament, Shri Rajeev Satav Ji. He was an upcoming leader with much potential. Condolences to his family, friends, and supporters. Om Shanti.”
The Congress Rajya Sabha MP succumbed to novel coronavirus at a private hospital in Pune on Sunday.
Satav, 47, was tested positive for the virus on April 22 and had also recovered, however, his condition deteriorated, and was put on ventilator support.
The Congress parliamentarian was being treated at Jahangir Hospital in Pune. “He expired in
wee hours today,” hospital sources said.
