Acting CJ of Allahabad HC Sanjay Yadav takes oath

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel on Sunday  administered the oath of office and secrecy to Justice Sanjay Yadav, the nominated Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, at the Gandhi Hall of Raj Bhavan.  On this occasion, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, state Law and Justice Minister Brajesh Pathak, Chief Secretary RK Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary to Governor Mahesh Kumar Gupta, Chief Justice’s family members, and senior High Court judges, registrars and senior officers were present.Justice Sanjay Yadav,  was presently  serving as Acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court since April 14. President Ram Nath Kovind had appointed acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Sanjay Yadav as the Chief Justice.  After the notification issued by the Union Law Ministry on Thursday last, that appointment will be effective from the date of taking oath and taking charge.However  his tenure is only for 13 days as he  will retire on June 25, 2021.Justice Sanjay Yadav, Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court was born on June 26, 1961.  He was registered as an advocate on 25 August 1986.  He practiced in the Jabalpur High Court in civil, revenue as well as constitutional matters.  He worked as a Government Advocate from March 1999 to October 2005.  Sanjay Yadav was also the Deputy Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh.On March 2, 2007, he was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court and became a permanent judge in January 2010.  He was also Acting Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court twice.  On January 8, 2021, he was transferred from the Madhya Pradesh High Court and became a judge of the Allahabad High Court.  After this, from April 14, he is working here as the acting Chief Justice.
