Bhubaneswar: After being closed due to the COVID-19 situation, schools and higher secondary schools across Odisha reopened today for Class X and XII students.
However, online and classroom learning will go in tandem with each other. The classes will be held from 10.00 AM to 1.30 PM for the students without recess hour.
The schools will remain closed on all government holidays.
Meanwhile, the State Government is also planning to reopen the schools for Class IX and XI students from August 16 and September 15, respectively.
Following guidelines have been issued by the School and Mass Education Department regarding reopening of schools.
a) Online/distance learning shall continue to be the preferred mode of teaching and shall be encouraged. Where schools are conducting online classes and some students prefer to attend online classes rather than physically attend school, they may be permitted to do so.
b) Online and classroom learning will go in tandem with each other and should continue to share timelines and daily schedules to ensure synchronization.
c) Students may attend schools/institutions in consultation with their parents or guardians. Attendance must not be enforced.
