Tokyo Olympics: Indian archer Atanu Das moves to round of 16

Tokyo: Archer Atanu Das stunned South Korean Olympic champion Oh Jin-Hyek 6-5 to move into the men’s individual round of 16 at the Tokyo Olympics here on Thursday.

Despite the windy conditions which created problems for the archers, Atanu Das shot a 10 in the shoot-off to beat his Korean rival after earlier defeating Olympic silver medalist Yu-Cheng Deng of Chinese Taipei 6-4, in the round of 64.

Now Atanu Das and his wife Deepika Kumari, are the only remaining Indian archers at Tokyo 2020. Deepika Kumari had earlier progressed to the women’s individual round of 16.
