Konark Sun Temple Reopens For Tourists With COVID Restrictions

Puri: The Sun Temple in Odisha’s Konark reopened for visitors today, after being closed for more than three months due to the COVID-19 situation.

All COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) are being followed at the heritage site. The tourists have to undergo thermal screening at the entry point. Maximum 2000 persons will be allowed to visit the site per day.

A QR code has been installed for online ticket booking in view of the restriction on manual booking to avoid physical contact.

Notably, the SRC while announcing the COVID-19 guidelines for the month of August had announced reopening of tourist places and archaeological monuments with COVID protocols.
