Kolkata, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar today expressed his ire at the state’s top bureaucracy, saying it “continues to play with fire”. ‘Top bureaucracy continues to ‘play with fire’ -disregarding RULES OF BUSINESS under Article 166 (3),’ he tweeted. ‘Administration & Police @MamataOfficial act as ‘errand boys’-employees #MAP,’ Mr Dhankhar further said, adding, ‘Matter of time when ‘Skeletons’ would be on street & amassed wealth exposed.’ Article 166(3) states that the governor is to make rules for the more convenient transaction of such business and for allocation of the same among the ministers in so far as it does not relate to matters in regard to which the governor is required to act in his discretion.Incidentally, the governor has been having a running feud with the Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress government over various issues. He had sought details of the money spent on holding the Bengal Global Business Summit, a pet project of the chief minister. Mr Dhankhar has also made public his displeasure over the appointment of Vice-Chancellors of state universities as well as handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in Bengal.
