Hyderabad, Sports Village, which is in the forefront of Tennis and Football promotion, is all set to commence its regular tennis training sessions at their courts in Hyderabad Polo and Riding Club (HPRC) in the city outskirts from August 11 i e on Tuesday.A statement here on Sunday, Sports Village COO and Director (Training) Durdana Arshi said that sports enthusiasts from the city are gradually getting into the training groove, thanks to the nod given to sports clubs, academies and associations to resume their training sessions.After being in isolation for three months now, here is some good news for budding tennis players from the city.All necessary precautions and preventive measures have been strictly complied with. The sessions will start at 0700 to 1030 hours on August 11 (Tuesday) while the evening sessions will be from 1530 to 1930 hours.In keeping with the Covid-19 guidelines, Sports Village is also putting in place a new regimen, which will be visible in both their morning and evening sessions. Head coach Mr Shankar dwells into the details with “To restore the flexibility of the athletes, we will be introducing basic core exercises like push-ups, planks, crunches and yoga sessions. We will be dividing the trainees into small groups of three or a maximum of four players.This will ensure that they will be maintaining social distance both during classes for singles and doubles players. To take the COVID protocol further, there will be separate coaches for each group.”To make the sessions livelier, there will be a couple of exhibition matches featuring the trainees and coaches on August 15, 2020, as part of Independence Day celebrations. The matches will start soon after the flag hoisting ceremony. The national tricolour will be unfurled by eminent sportsperson, who will also be felicitated on the occasion.Sports Village will aim to prepare its players for the upcoming tournaments.
