New Delhi: On the eve of Independence Day, 926 policemen across the country have been awarded with police medals, out of which 215 have been selected for Police Medal for gallantry Service , 80 for President’s Medal for Distinguished Service and 631 for Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Jammu and Kashmir Police has received the highest number of 81 Gallantry awards, while the Central Reserve Police Force has received 55 and the Uttar Pradesh Police has received 23 medals.Delhi Police has received 16 medals and Maharashtra Police has got 14 medals. Jharkhand Police 12, Assam five, Chhattisgarh and Arunachal three each, Telangana two and Border Security Force one gallantry medal.
