Pratapgarh, Anguished over family disturbances, a woman jumped into a river along with her daughter in this Uttar Pradesh district, police said on Monday. However, their bodies have not been recovered yet. According to the police here, divers have been tasked to search for the duo. Bandana, a resident of Godwan village in the Sangipur police station area, reached the Uddharan bridge of the Sai river near her house, along with her daughter Nidhi (5) and jumped into the river on Sunday evening.Some youths, who were standing nearby, informed the locals about the incident. The family identified the slippers, left behind by Bandana, and said that the woman and the minor hail from their family. Police said that efforts are on to take out the mother-daughter duo from the river and divers have been called from Prayagraj.
As per the locals, a dispute had taken place in the family on Sunday.
