Kolkata, Two daily wages labourers were killed when the rooftop
of a dilapidated building, which belonged to the state land revenue department, in West Medinipur collapsed on them burying them alive, official sources said. The deceased identified as Ram Soren and Shuvodip Pramanik came under the falling roof when they were removing furniture and documents from the old building to a new one on Tuesday afternoon. The collapse of the dilapidated building at Keranitola in Medinipur town happene . following torrents when some 25 daily wages labourers were engaged in shifting the office’s removable property. The rescue teams of NDRF and DMG after about 10 hours searching recovered the lifeless bodies of the two middle age labourers early today. The bodies have been sent for post mortem to the Medinpur Medical College and Hospital by the police. In a separate incident the body of a labourer was today found inside the dal mill early this morning at Ultadanga in eastern part of the city.The throat of the deceased was found split in the dal mill at Gorapada Sarkar Lane. Police began an investigation into the crime.
