Thane, Two people, including a police officer, have been arrested in a bribery case, ACB sources said on Wednesday.
The Additional Superintendent of Police- ACB- Thane, Mukund Hatote, said the alleged accused were PSI Rohit Bandgar (30) and Niteen Joshi (28).The police said that there was a complaint against a real estate developer of cheating, so he approached Kamothe police station at Navi Mumbai.To hush up the matter, PSI Bandgar sought a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a complainant. Finally, it was decided to settle the matter at Rs 1,50,000.Aggrieved complainant, lodged a complaint with the Thane unit of the ACB officials.They laid a trap and nabbed the PSI with the first instalment of Rs 50,000 on Tuesday, the additional superintendent said.A case was registered and further investigation was on, he added.
