Maharashtra: Rs 50 lakh insurance cover for private doctors

Thane: The Maharashtra Government has extended Rs 50 lakh insurance cover to the private doctors in the state who, lost their lives during and in the pandemic. The Director of Health Services Dr Sadhana Tayde, in a circular, stated that the insurance cover is given to the doctors in the government and semi-government services for their deaths during the COVID and their death was now now being extended to private doctors who also die due to the COVID. She has also referred to the letter dated April 09.2020 of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package- Insurance Scheme for Health Care workers fighting COVID-19 and said the provisions of the same be followed for the private doctors too.
