VSSUT: ONE STEP FORWARD

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) priorily made a record by developing a ‘Sounding  Rocket’ which found  place in Limca Book of Records.It’s innovation club could able to make it. In order to give a boost in Space Research and Application in future recently one MOU signed between ISRO(Indian Space Research Organisation) and VSSUT. Dr.K.Siban, ISRO’s Chairman, Sanjay kumar Singh, Secretary of the Odisha Skill Development and Technical Education Department including Vice-Chancellor of VSSUT attended this virtual event which is a landmark happening. The aim is to set up a space innovation cum incubation centre for which ISRO will offer technical consultancy support and financial assistance of Rs.50 lakh to the VSSUT for infrastructure development. With the collaboration of ISRO and VSSUT, work will be done for the development of high-end simulation tools and miniature test facilities and solid propulsion research laboratory too. Also establishment of testing facility for scaled-down models will promote knowledge about space research among students. As Siban told students would be more interested in space research and application in future which may be a game changer for the country. The proposed VSSUT space innovation centre (VSSSIC) will explore the latest global trend in space technology and can take up related projects which will benefit the country. It is needless to tell VSSUT is the first university in the country to sign such a MOU for a better future of the students.
