Bengaluru: Police have nabbed a drug peddler and recovered from him 20 kg ganja and Rs 30,000 cash.
Police said on Friday that 28 year-old Amir Ahmed was caught with 1 kg ganja he was possessing and trying to sell. On his information 19 kg ganja stored in his house was recovered. On interrogation, the arrested has stated that he was working as a receptionist in a hotel and during Covid-19 pandemic he lost his job and was forced to indulge in crime to earn livelihood. In another incident, Police have nabbed a robber and seized stolen gold ornaments worth about Rs 10 lakhs.
Police said that Adil Pasha was a habitual robber. He was earlier caught on several occasions and he was out on bail when he again indulged in criminal activity. He, along with two children, used to claim crowded city buses and drop coins and act as collecting the coin he used to rob bags containing ornaments of others. After he was caught, the two children escaped from the scene quietly. RMC Yard Police have registered a case and are investigating.
