India’s previous lowest total in Test cricket was 42 against England in 1974.
With Mohammed Shami getting retired after getting hit near his right wrist, India gave an 89-run lead on Day 3.
Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood blew away the Indian batting order in one of the visitors’ worst-ever batting show. Cummins finished with 4/21 while Hazlewood had 5/8.
Australia need a paltry 90 to win the first Test in the four-match series.
