New Delhi: Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati on Saturday demanded immediate repealing of the three new agri-reform laws and said that the government must adopt a sympathetic attitude towards the protesting farmers, rather than having a dogmatic approach while dealing with them.
In her message on Saturday, Ms Mayawati tweeted, ”The government must have a sympathetic attitude towards the agitating farmers rather than being dogmatic and repeal the three new agri reform laws with immediate effect accepting the farmers demand. This is what the BSP demands”.
Meanwhile, the farmers agitation on Saturday entered 24th day , while they continued to step up their preparations in view of staying put in the harsh weather as temperature continued to drop in and around Delhi bringing wintry chills.
The major border points, including Singhu, Auchandi, Piau Maniyari, Mangesh,Tikri and Dhansa borders continue to remain closed for any traffic movement, while the Jhatikara Border is open only for two-wheelers and pedestrian movement.
Kharoda border is also open in a single way carriage manner, while Chilla border with Uttar Pradesh is also open on one carriageway from Delhi to Noida, however, other carriageway from Noida to Delhi is closed.
