New Delhi, The National Capital on Sunday woke up to a misty wintry morning with minimum temperature settling at 3.4 degrees C (Safadjung Centre), which was five points below the season’s average, the Indian Meteorological Department said.There was shallow fog in the early hours, while sky was partly cloudy, the weatherman said.People across the city, especially living on streets, or working overnight in the open took to corners and were seen trying to keep themselves warm by make-shift bonfire arrangements.Relative humidity at around 0830 hours pegged at 94 per cent, while maximum temperature during the day is likely to hover around 22 degrees C, as per the MET official.Meanwhile, air quality in the city deteriorated further, now reeling under ‘very poor’ category as average Air Quality Index this morning witnessed a spike and measured 306 at 1000 hours.According to the weatherman, temperature is likely to drop towards evening and night.For Monday, the weatherman forecast fog, mist in the morning and partly cloudy sky during the day.
