Vijayawada, Expressing shock over the ghastly fire accident, which has claimed seven lives of Coronavirus patients so far, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced Rs.50 lakh ex-gratia to the bereaved families.The Chief Minister expressed shock and grief over the fire mishap which took place in the Swarana Palace hotel, where Corona care centre was set up by a corporate hospital and enquired with the officials about the cause of the accident.The Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to take up the rescue measures and admit the injured in nearby hospitals. He had also instructed officials to conduct enquiry over the accident.Meanwhile, the Chief Minister’s office in a statement said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi telephoned the Chief Minister to know the details of the fire accident. Mr Reddy apprised the Prime Minister about the fire accident at the COVID-19 care centre. The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister that all needed steps were taken for the safety of patients. He also informed the Prime Minister that Rs 50 lakh ex-gratia was announced for the bereaved families.Meanwhile, Vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu expressed anguish for the loss of lives in a Corona care centre. He tweeted, “Extremely anguished by the loss of lives in a COVID-19 care centre at Vijayawada following a fire mishap. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families & prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured”.
