Ranchi: Armed miscreants executed a big incident on Obaria road under Jaggannathpur Police Station area of the state capital as they looted a sum of Rs 1.25 crore at gunpoint from a trader on Monday morning.
Police said that the cash was looted from the victim identified as Nikesh Mishra. The incident spot is located barely 50 metres away from police outpost.
Nikesh Mishra early morning along with his three associates had left his home in a four-wheeler in which he was going to deposit the money with a wholesale dealer. As soon as he came out of the lane on the road the criminals who were carrying pistols and revolvers forced him to stop the car and looted the cash and fled from the spot.
Upon receiving information Hatia ASP Amit Kumar along with other officials reached on the spot and inquired into the incident. Police were going through CCTV footage to obtain clues regarding the criminals.
