City bus services resume in Vijayawada


Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) resumed city bus services on Saturday, after a gap of nearly six months. The city bus services were suspended on March 22 following the COVID lockdown. APSRTC started plying city bus services in some selected routes. Initially 26 city buses would ply in the selected routes and the services would be increased later. RTC Regional Manager Nagendra Prasad told media that it is mandatory that passengers travelling in the city buses should compulsory wear masks. One passenger is allowed to travel by sitting in one seat. Standing in city buses would not be allowed, he said. The city buses were plying in the routes of Mylavaram, Agiripalli, Vissannapet, Pamarru, Vidyadharapuram and Mangalagiri.
