New Delhi, India recorded 93,356 cured and discharged COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, as per the Union Home Ministry data update on Monday.The increase in recoveries has pushed the percentage of the same to now 80.12 per cent, while in figure the number of cured till date now stands at 43,96,399.A total of 86,961 fresh cases since Sunday further pushed the tally to 54,87,581, while the fatality count has now mounted to 87,882 after 1,130 more lives were claimed by the highly contagious in the past one day.On the brighter side, with the good number of recoveries, the active cases have come down further on the third consecutive day, this time by 7,525 and presently the active case load on the nation is 10,03,299.In terms of percentage at present, the active cases are 18.28 per cent, recovered at 80.12 per cent, and the deaths at 1.60 per cent.According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as many as 7,31,534 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, taking the total cumulative samples tested since the beginning of the pandemic till Sunday to 6,43,92,594. Maharashtra continues to remain the worst affected state with maximum case count as well as in terms of maximum active cases of the pandemic.Globally, United States continues to remain the most-infected, followed by India and Brazil.
