Kharagpur: A Covid patient, identified as Gopal Ghoroi (45), was found hanging inside Salboni super speciality hospital, East Medinipur, sending panic among the patients in the wards. The death was also shrouded in mystery over suspicion of unnatural death. Police were called after the patients of the wards found the body hanging by a rope to the ceiling in the hospital. The deceased was a resident of Sultanpur village, an outskirt of this industrial town
in East Medinipur, admitted into the government owned hospital on August 12 with coronavirus symptoms. However, the relatives of the deceased claimed that Gopal Ghori was murdered and demanded an independent probe. They alleged that the deceased had a long time infection in one of his legs and could not even walk for himself. They claimed that whenhe was admitted he needed support to remove from place to place.
