Odisha is known as a natural disaster prone state where before 16 months cyclone “Fani” ransacked few districts of costal belt including Puri which has been affected heavily where the loss is yet to be recovered. Just after 11months Pandemic Corona spread in the state & till now people are suffering. So to say, the economic activities of the state comes to partial halt. In order to keep Corona away, the state is running under lockdown, shut down & people are maintaining social distance using mask & remaining away from the friend, family & even office. Poor & middle class suffering is more due to monetary crisis as their workplaces starting from different factory, shops to daily labour work; stopped for indefinite period. Cov-19 positive is now on its peak & more time is required to control the Pandemic. According to specialists it may come down in our state around a month after. Before that Odisha is with another natural disaster, that is Drought. Since two weeks there is no trace of monsoon. Out of 30 Districts nowhere there is usual rain. Statistics shows half of the state is with less rain which affects agriculture & only low pressure resulting in rain may help agriculture to some extend which is on doubt still. If the same condition of the climate will continue then the Drought is not far away.
