ED summons TMC leader Manas Bhunia and Madan Mitra’s son in ponzi scam case

Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) probing the money trails of different chit fund scandals in West Bengal, has issued a fresh summon notice to ruling Trinamool Congress leader Manas Bhunia and son of former minister Madan Mitra in the I-core scam case. The central investigating agency early this week also called TMC secretary general and state education minister Partha Chatterjee and former Councillor Bappaditya Dasgupta to appear
before the probing officials at the CGO Complex next week. The ED in a notice called Mr Bhunia, who also contested the state assembly poll from Sabang this time, and Swarup Mitra, son of Madan Mitra, to appear on April 19 and April 23 respectively in the I-Core ponzi case. Mr Mitra, who has already spent over an year in jail in the Saradha scam case, is contesting on TMC ticket from Kamarhati in North 24 Parganas where election would be held on April 17.
