Anantapur, Fire broke out in the record room, located adjacent to the Covid treatment ward, in the Government General Hospital (GGH) here on Tuesday night.No one was injured in the fire incident.Superintendent of Police B Satyayesu Babu told media that fire broke out in the record room, which was located adjacent to the Covid ward in the GGH after midnight. The fire prevention personnel and the police rushed there immediately and put out the flames.As many as 24 Coronavirus positive patients undergoing treatment in the Covid ward and they were shifted to another ward. The Covid treatment ward is located adjacent to the record room where flames had erupted. As smoke entered the Covid ward, it resulted in patients feeling suffocation. Superintendent of Police , MLA Venkatrami Reddy went to the GGH and spoke with the officials and supervised the relief measures.Police said that an electrical short circuit is suspected to be the reason for the fire accident. The officials, doctors and police heaved a sigh of relief as no Covid patient was injured in the fire accident.
