Flash Flood Warning Issued For 19 Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued flash flood warning for as many as 19 districts of Odisha in view of the low pressure area formed over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood. The ‘Red Warning’ has been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Boudh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Nuapada districts. Here’s day-wise weather forecast for Odisha till August 27:

August 24- Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar. Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Puri, Sundargarh, and Deogarh.

August 25- Red Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, and Deogarh.

Impact:
1-Waterlogging and flash flood in some places.
2-Some damage to informal road and kutcha house.
3-Traffic congestion and disruption of municipal services due to waterlogging in urban areas.
4-Landslides in hilly areas.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Puri, Khurdha, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, and Kandhamal.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Nuapada, Nawarangpur, Malkangiri, and Koraput.

August 26- Red Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Boudh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, and Deogarh.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Angul, and Keonjhar.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Jajpur.

August 27- Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar.
