New Delhi: Ten ten twenty twenty-Saturday’s ‘unique’ date not only symbolises rhythm, but also righteousness-required to counter Coronavius across world erasing the ‘fear’ of great magnitude associated with the pandemic. On the ‘ World Mental Health Day,’ India, whose Covid fight along with the world is more ‘strenuous’ than other countries due to prolonged standoff with China and ‘provocations’ from Pakistan, Nepal, is taking ‘solace’ on Tagore as well as spreading the Bard of Bengal’s “Where the Mind is without fear….”across the planet. ‘World Mental Health Day’ is observed on October 10 every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilising efforts in support of mental health. This year’s theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is ‘Mental Health for All.’ A report by the World Health Organisation (WHO) revealed that 7.5 per cent of the Indian population suffers from some form of mental disorders. Mental illnesses constitute one-sixth of all health related disorders. Informatively, India is accounted for nearly 15 per cent of the global mental, neurological and substance abuse disorder burden. Incidentally, because of the Covid-19 and months of lockdown induced by the pandemic the world over, the suicidal tendencies triggering from mental disorders have increased to a major level across world.
