New Delhi: India’s novel coronavirus infections reached to 1,08,26,363 with 12,059 new cases in the last 24 hours, while 1,05,122,601 people recovered from the contagion taking the country’s recovery rate to 97.19 per cent on Sunday, according to Union Health Ministry update.
As many as 11,805 patients recovered in a day, taking the total number of discharges to 1,05,22,601, the government data said.
The country houses 1,48,766 active cases presently, while 78 more succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, pushing the Covid fatalities to 1,54,996.
As per the data, the fatality rate stood at 1.43 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 20,13,68,378 samples have been tested up to February 6 with 6,95,789 samples being tested on Saturday.
The latest trend shows that Kerala and Maharashtra registering 5,942 and 2,768 new cases respectively while only 3,349 cases were collectively reported from the rest of the country.
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Saturday announced that India is in the process of developing seven more Covid-19 vaccines and also working on further vaccine development to inoculate every citizen in the country.
