New Delhi: COVID-19 infections continued to surge in the country as nearly 25,000 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.
Total 24,882 fresh cases of novel coronavirus were recorded, the highest in 2021, which took the India tally to 1,13,33,728, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Saturday.
Besides, 140 more fatalities were also reported, taking the death toll to 1,58,446.
Total 19,957 people were recovered from the virus, pushing the total number of such cases to 1,09,73,260.
So far, 22,58,39,273 tests have been conducted across the country, of which 8,40,635 were done in the last 24 hours, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
India’s total Active Caseload has reached 2,02,022, which accounts for 1.74 per cent of total cases.
So far, total 2,82,18,457 vaccine doses have been administered in the country, according to the Ministry.
